Someone needs to read your work.
You’re not a fool. You know not to submit your very first, roughest draft to that contest or Blacklist. You also know that you shouldn’t even submit your second, third, fourth, or fifth draft.
Script consultants give you anything from feedback to detailed, page-by-page notes on your screenplay so that you’re sending your project into the world in peak shape.
Why does this cost money?
The tough-love answer is that no one cares as much about your script as you do, so there has to be more than an emotional investment at stake. The more pragmatic answer is that time is money, baby. I spend several hours with each script, no matter the length, during which I read, read again, write notes, read again, and add/hone my notes to be as clear as possible about what needs work in your script.
Are you…not terribly interested in working with me, but you want to support the work I’m doing? You can do that! By sponsoring a writer, you make my services available to emerging writers who may not yet have the means to invest in themselves. Get in touch with me about how you’d like to be a sponsor, or if there’s a particular writer in your life you’d like to gift my services to!
What makes you so special, Charlotte?
I know I just said above that no one cares about your script or story as much as you, and while that’s true…I also care. You can count on thoughtful, thorough notes from me, and real, excited conversations about your project—not just the script. When you hire me, you also get a cheerleader and a fan.
